Brief Introduction of 2xxx Series Aluminum Alloys
2xxx Series Aluminum Alloys are high-strength, heat-treatable aluminum-copper alloys (e.g., 2024, 2014) renowned for their exceptional strength-to-weight ratio and fatigue resistance, making them ideal for aerospace and structural applications. With copper (3–6%) as the primary alloying element, these alloys achieve tensile strengths of 400–500 MPa after heat treatment, outperforming many non-ferrous metals. They retain mechanical stability at elevated temperatures (up to 150°C), suitable for aircraft components, truck frames, and machinery parts. While their corrosion resistance is lower than other series, Zhonglian Aluminum enhances durability through protective anodizing or cladding processes.
Known for excellent machinability and weldability (using TIG/MIG methods), 2xxx alloys comply with AMS and ASTM standards, backed by ISO-certified QC to ensure precision in extrusion (±0.1mm) and CNC machining for critical tolerances.
