What Is Aluminum Extrusion?
Aluminum extrusion is a process that involves pushing aluminum metal material through a cylinder (die) of a specific cross section. The aluminum profile looks like an expanded assembly that is roughly the same thickness as the aluminum mold opening.
Typically, large aluminum extrusion process involves transforming the extruded ingot into an uninterrupted piece with a uniform cross section by pushing it through a die opening that is similar in appearance to the die opening at extremely high pressures.
How Is The Large Aluminum Extrusion Made?
There are two ways of aluminum extrusion: direct extrusion and indirect extrusion. The most common and widely used technique for aluminum extrusion is direct extrusion. The die head is held stationary by indirect extrusion, while the aluminium billet is driven through the die by a moving plunger. Shapes such as hollow tubes, solid rods, and rods are usually produced by direct extrusion.
