Briefly Introduction Of Oxide Aluminum Profile


Oxide Aluminum Profile, a protective oxide film formed on the surface of a substrate, which is the substrate as an anode, placed in the electrolyte for electrolysis, artificial formed a protective oxide film on the surface of the substrate, so that has a strong wear resistance, weather resistance and corrosion resistance.


Formation Of Oxide Film

During electrolysis, the anion of oxygen interacts with aluminum to produce an oxide film. This film is not thin enough at the beginning of formation with a certain resistance, so that the negative oxygen ions in the electrolyte can still reach the aluminum surface to continue to form an oxide film. However, with the increase of the film thickness, the resistance becomes larger, the electrolytic current becomes smaller, and the outer oxide film in contact with the electrolyte occurs chemical dissolution at the same time. When the speed of oxide formation on the aluminum surface is gradually balanced with the speed of chemical dissolution, the oxide film can reach the maximum thickness under this electrolytic parameter. What’s more, the structure of aluminum anodized film is different from other transformation films, the dense layer which closes to the base metal part is 0.01 ~ 0.1 micron, while the honeycomb layer composed of many hollow hexagonal cylinders which on the top with a total thickness of 2 ~ 100 micron.


Function

The anodic oxide film produced by various electrolytes varies in tone, some are overall colored which mostly used in the construction industry, some can dye coloring or the use of hydrolysis and decomposition method, so that the pigment formation is deposited in the hollow part of the hexagonal column, increasing the aesthetic feeling. Finally, sealed and dried is needed. Normally, Aluminum with an oxide aluminum film is better than chromate treated aluminum at resisting corrosion. In addition to being widely used in the construction industry and daily hardware products, this kind of aluminum profile is also used in aircraft, automobiles and civil ships. Using low temperature, weak dissolving electrolyte and high voltage (100 ~ 150 volts), hard anodized film for engineering can be formed for mechanical parts and hydraulic components in contact with fiber, paper and rubber. Parts with very low friction coefficients can be obtained by filling the hexagonal cylinder cavities of ordinary anodized alumina layers with TEflon.
