The Difference Between Fluorocarbon And Powder Coating

Nowadays, industrial aluminum profiles are widely used in all walks of life. With the higher and higher requirements for the surface of aluminum products, more and more people prefer coating treatment. But what's the difference between fluorocarbon coating and powder coating? Today, Zhonglian Aluminum will explain the difference between fluorocarbon and powder coating in detail.

A. Different original materials:

Fluorocarbon coating: The coating used is PVDF fluorocarbon coating or PVDF special fluorocarbon primer, which are solvent-based liquid coatings.

Powder spraying: The coating used is powder coating, commonly known as plastic powder, with the main types are: epoxy polyester powder coating (indoor powder), polyester powder coating (outdoor powder), epoxy powder coating (anti-corrosion powder), powder coating is solvent-free solid coating.

B. The difference in the coating process

Powder coating and fluorocarbon coating are suitable for line coating.

PVDF coating can choose both electrostatic coating and general coating.

Electrostatic coating, friction gun coating, fluidized bed coating, and other methods are selected for powder coating, and the first is electrostatic coating.

C. Different baking temperatures

Fluorocarbon PVDF coating baking temperature is suitable for: 230℃, 15min.

Powder coating baking temperature: indoor plastic powder 180℃, 20min; Outdoor plastic powder: 200℃, 20min.

D. Differences in the use of functions:

1. Appearance and color:

Fluorocarbon coating: the appearance color is slightly dark, with no obvious reflection;

Powder coating: The appearance color can be adjusted on the luminosity arbitrarily, both mirror reflection and reflective.

2, the service life (UV resistance, yellow resistance, light and color preservation, wind and sun resistance) :

Fluorocarbon coating: more than 15 years, up to 30 years without fading or changing color;

Powder coating (pure polyester powder): 7-8 years or even 3 to 5 years to fade away.

3. Film thickness:

Fluorocarbon coating: all 35-60μm or so.

Powder coating: 60-120μm, depending on the type of difference.

4. Appearance:

Fluorocarbon coating: Normally, plain color, metal color. The luster is generally not high.

Powder coating: plain color, metal color, wrinkles, sand grain, wood grain, stone, and other artistic patterns can be reflected.

A kind of national standard ordinary spraying, the coating film thickness is 60μm-120μm, and the powder is mainly a domestic well-known brand. It is mainly used indoors and widely used in door and window building materials. The price is low, and the guarantee is about 10-15 years.

The other is fluorocarbon Coating which is also called PVDF, with a standard film thickness of 25μm-35μm. The powder is mainly Akzo, a well-known imported brand of PPG, and the shelf life is 10-15 years. It is widely used in outdoor decoration products. Fluorocarbon spraying has very good anti-ultraviolet and anti-corrosion effects, but the price is relatively expensive.
