In order to celebrate the traditional Chinese folk festival, Guangdong Zhonglian Aluminum （Foreign Trade Dept.）had lunch with delecious soup together. Thanks to our boss for the careful arrangement which make us feel the warmth of home though at company.
Tanabata Festival, also known as seven Qiao festival, seven sister festival, daughter's festival, Qiqiao Festival, seven Niang will, Tanabata Festival, bull day, Qiao evening, etc., is a traditional Chinese folk festival that celebrated on the seventh day of the seventh lunar month every year.
Tanabata Festival evolved from star worship, for the traditional sense of the seventh sister birthday. It is called "Tanabata" because the activities of worship "seven sister" were held on July 7 night. Worship seven elder sister, praying, begging for art, sitting at Altair Vega, prayer marriage, water storage Tanabata are the traditional customs of Tanabata.
Through the historical development, Tanabata was endowed with the beautiful love legend of the "cowherd and the Weaver girl", making as a symbol of love festival which is considered to be the most romantic traditional festival that full with the cultural meaning of "Chinese Valentine's Day" in china.
Tanabata Festival is not only a festival to worship the seven sisters, but also a festival of love. It is a comprehensive festival the main body of women with the carrier of "cowherd and Weaver" folk legend as well as the theme to pray for blessings, begging for qiao and love. "Cowherd and Weaver girl" comes from people's worship of the natural sky because people would mutually corresponding astrological area and geographical area to each other in the ancient time. In term of the corresponding relationship on astronomy was known as "star" while in terms of geography was known as "field". It is said that on the seventh day of July every year, the cowherd and the Weaver girl would meet on the magpie bridge in the sky.
Tanabata Festival started in ancient times, popular in the Western Han Dynasty, peak in the Song Dynasty. In ancient times, Tanabata Festival was an exclusive festival for beautiful girls. Among the many folk customs of Tanabata Festival, some have gradually disappeared, but there are still quite a few have been continued. Tanabata Festival originated in China, it is also celebrated in some Asian countries influenced by Chinese culture, such as Japan, the Korean Peninsula and Vietnam. On May 20, 2006, Tanabata Festival was included in the first batch of national intangible cultural heritage list by The State Council of the People's Republic of China.
