On August 31, 2022, the Ministry of Strategy and Finance of the Republic of Korea announced No. 2022-165 that it decided not to impose provisional anti-dumping duties on aluminum hydroxide from China and Australia. The Korea Trade Commission will continue to investigate the anti-dumping cases of aluminum hydroxide from China and Australia, and the Ministry of Strategy and Finance will decide whether to impose anti-dumping measures based on the final recommendation of the Korea Trade Commission.
On Feb 28, 2022, the Korea Trade Commission launched an anti-dumping investigation against aluminum hydroxide from China and Australia. On July 21, 2022, the Korea Trade Commission made a positive preliminary ruling on the case and suggested the Ministry of Strategy and Finance impose provisional anti-dumping duties on the products involved. Chinese producer Chalco Shandong Co., Ltd. and its affiliates are subject to the 14.27% anti-dumping duty, and Longkou Donghai Alumina Co. Ltd.) and its affiliated enterprises shall be subject to an anti-dumping duty of 21.05%, and other Chinese suppliers shall be subject to an anti-dumping duty of 14.27%; Alcoa of Australia Limited and other Australian suppliers are subject to a 37.96% anti-dumping duty.
