2. Optimize the use conditions and improve the life of the mold

The total weight of the product that passes through the extrusion die before being scrapped due to wear or other forms of failure resulting in irreparable damage is called the life of the die. Increasing mold life essentially means reducing failure. The reasons for scrapping can be divided into two types: over scrapped scrap and scrapped scrap.

2.1 Strict process conditions, standard and reasonable use of mold

During the extrusion process, the mold is subjected to high temperature, high pressure, high friction, repeated cyclic stress, impact load, and chilled heat for a long period of time. The working conditions are rather poor, and it must be ensured that the mold is under optimum process conditions when used.

(1) Strictly mold heating system, determine the heating temperature and time according to the mold type and size, and strictly prohibit the mold from squeezing out of warm car, and use the mold protectively.

(2) Regulate the relationship between temperature and enthalpy, implement low-temperature high-speed or high-temperature low-speed extrusion method, and slowly pressurize to prevent impact extrusion and reduce the number of blockages.

(3) Reduce the chilling and heat change of the mold, avoid cold water pouring directly onto the mold, and the unloaded mold is not allowed to put into the alkali etching groove above 200°C.

2.2 strengthen mold maintenance, improve the mold on the molding rate

2.3 Optimize the process of mold nitridation and improve the throughput

The nitridation process of the mold is urea plus formamide gas soft nitriding. This method has a thin nitride layer, low hardness, poor seizure resistance, and high cost. After many investigations, it was decided to use an ammonia gas plus alcohol two-stage gas soft nitriding process to perform multiple tests on the process parameters such as the ratio of the chemicals, the nitriding temperature, the time, the ammonia decomposition rate, and other process parameters. Process.
